NOIA FILM HOUSE

“NOIA” is the Italian word for BOREDOM. Boredom is the mental state that can be both negative and positive, can be easy to define but also hard. It is both a need to reflection and rest and a desire for stimulation. There is no creativity without boredom. It is an antidote to modern obsession with constant stimulation.

That’s why at NOIA FILM HOUSE LLC, we embrace the need of noia.

MARTINA COCCIA

FILMMAKER // FOUNDER

I am an emerging filmmaker, traveling between places and worlds to follow stories. I am currently based in Tucson, AZ, where I founded my own production company NOIA FILM HOUSE LLC.

I am drawn to emotionally raw, surreal and socially resonant stories. My work is in both in narrative and documentaries, drawing from my unique blend of global perspective and multidisciplinary background that blends art, science and technology.

When I am not working on my projects, I help other filmmakers in the camera and G/E departments.

ROBERTA CAPPA

PHOTOGRAPHER // COLLABORATOR

Hello, Roberta here!

At the heart of my work is a curiosity about people and the stories we carry with us. I’m drawn to portraiture for the opportunity to connect with people and explore the different ways their personality and presence can be captured in an image.I started exploring portrait photography while living in Boston, and it has stayed with me ever since.

My photographic practice has developed through a number of personal and collective projects across Italy, working with different artists, subjects, and creative communities. These projects have taken place in different locations throughout the country and have also included participation in international exhibitions and expositions.

Each project has been an opportunity to explore portraiture in different contexts and to continue developing my approach to photography through collaboration.
